Hello and welcome to the official website for Mitch Easter! 2011 has been a busy year so far for Mitch. The fantastic new Birds of Avalon record that was recorded and mixed by Mitch at the Fidelitorium came out in January on Bladen County Records. He's also been in the studio with Chapel Hill pop band The Huguenots and Slumberland Records' brand new boy superstars Big Troubles (also check out their sweet Angelfire site!) Coming up are mixes with Polvo for their new single on Merge Records.

In February, Mitch took his own band up to the Northeast for a four day mini-tour. They stopped by Jack Rabid's Brooklyn studio to play a few songs for The Big Takeover's Rabid In The Kennel Series. You can hear Mitch's interview with Jack and some of the tracks from the session here and see the the videos for "Every Word Means No" and "Phantoms of Ephemera." While in Boston, Mitch also did a nice little <interview with Erin Amar for Rocker Magazine (THE LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE FOR AGING HIPSTERS).

March brought Mitch back up to the Northeast for the NYC performance of Big Star's Third, where he joined forces with Big Star's own Jody Stephens, Chris Stamey, Mike Mills and Michael Stipe from R.E.M., Matthew Sweet, Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo, and many, many more amazing people to recreate the magic of Big Star's beloved third album live at Baruch College's Mason Hall. You can read all about it in the New York Times, Mojo Magazine (PDF), and in this interview in the Village Voice.

There are rumors that Mitch is thinking about working on another album of his own material...we will keep you posted! In the meantime, if you would like to work with Mitch or visit The Fidelitorium, please visit our Recording Services Page or email him directly at mitcheaster3@gmail.com. Thanks for stopping by and please stay in touch!
